Carefully matched in size to work in pairs for implement Hula. 

‘Ili’ili are hand held percussion instruments struck together similar to castanets. They are most commonly used in Hula Kahiko to accompany ‘oli (chant) or used to provide accompaniment in rhythmic Hula.
